Carbon Credits | Tradewater.co

What are carbon credits?

Carbon credits represent the reduction or removal of one metric ton of carbon dioxide (CO₂) or its equivalent in greenhouse gases. They are used by businesses and individuals to address emissions of their carbon footprint that they can’t otherwise reduce. Carbon credits can be used as part of a regulated cap-and-trade system or purchased voluntarily to support sustainability efforts, making it a unique and multi-faceted solution in the fight against climate change.

Tradewater's high-impact carbon credits

Tradewater’s high quality carbon credits are the result of our work mitigating super pollutant gases, like halocarbon and methane gases, around the world. We are focused on permanently preventing the release of these harmful greenhouse gases from ever entering the atmosphere.

Choosing projects like ours means you will make an immediate impact reducing the rate of climate change.

Ensuring the high-integrity of our credits

Each of our projects undergo vigorous third-party verifications, ensuring our projects meet strict quality standards resulting in the highest-quality, highest-integrity credits.

In fact, many of our projects have received the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM) Core Carbon Principles (CCP) label for meeting high-integrity standards, assuring buyers that they can trust in the quality of our credits.

Discover your carbon footprint

We have built a simple tool to help you determine your carbon footprint. You can use it to calculate your personal impact or the impact of your business.

High quality. Trustworthy. Verified.

  • Verification & standards

Tradewater follows stringent verification processes and adheres to internationally recognized standards, such as those set by the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and the American Carbon Registry (ACR). These standards ensure that the carbon offsets they generate are real, additional, and permanent.

  • Permanently preventing greenhouse gas emissions

by capturing and destroying potent greenhouse gases like refrigerants and plugging orphaned oil and gas wells.

  • Transparent reporting

We provide detailed information on the sources of the emissions we offset, the methodologies used, and the outcomes of our projects, allowing buyers to have confidence in the impact and accuracy of our credits.

  • Third-party audits

All of our projects are subject to independent third-party audits. These audits confirm that the projects are conducted as planned and that the carbon offsets produced are both legitimate and effective.

  • Commitment to additionality

We ensure that our projects meet the principle of additionality, meaning that the emissions reductions they achieve would not have occurred without the intervention of our projects.

When you purchase offset credits from us, not only are you helping to scale our impact, but you are joining our community in supporting the critical path to avoiding climate change by investing in a proven, results-driven program.

Our work wouldn't be possible without carbon credits

With our positive reinvestment strategy, every carbon credit purchased directly funds our work searching and preventing the release of even more harmful gases.  Our integrated approach meets the highest standards, resulting in verifiable, permanent climate impact, and sustainable economic benefits.
